Netball New Zealand Community Coaching has launched a new website, giving coaches across the country a central home for practical coaching resources, including the newly released Skill Sets video series.

Developed in collaboration with NetballSmart, the website brings together tools coaches can take straight to training. The Skill Sets series covers fundamental netball skills alongside the movement and strength foundations that underpin them - combining coaching tips, movement skills and strength ideas to help players develop and apply key skills in both training and game environments.

Community Coaching Manager Leigh Gibbs said the website and series were built with the realities of community coaching in mind.

"Many of our coaches are volunteers who generously give their time each week, so it's important we provide resources that are practical, easy to access and simple to implement," Gibbs said.

"These videos give coaches a library of ready-to-use ideas that build player confidence and develop fundamental skills in a fun and engaging way. They can be taken straight from the screen to the court."

The Skill Sets series also incorporates NetballSmart principles, supporting efficient and safe movement, improved performance, player strength and reduced injury risk.

NetballSmart Lead Sharon Kearney said the videos were designed to help coaches build strong movement foundations alongside technical skill development.

"Netball is a dynamic game that places significant demands on the body, so helping players move efficiently and develop strength from an early age is incredibly important," Kearney said.

"By combining skill development with NetballSmart principles, these resources give coaches practical ways to support performance, build confidence and reduce injury risk within their everyday training environments."

Coaches are encouraged to explore the website and put the resources to use in their training sessions.
